No doubt that the business world is a fierce place to be into; a place of unending competition to the product makers. With time and money at stake in developing and improving their product, companies have got to be innovative, creative and at the same time aggressive in promoting them. Even though in this time of ours where we are encircled by the fast-paced media, there are still a lot of companies not successful enough in endorsing their product. That is why they have to dig-out a lot of clever ideas or rather ways possible to lift their business promotion ahead of others and finally be heard by the people in buying the merchandise they produce. Other companies would persuade the consumer’s attention by making their product more unique in colour and style or they would lessen the value of the good and so on. There are certainly a lot of ways to catch the people’s attention but is it effective enough to entice everyone to try it.We all know that advertising is the tool used to endorse services, goods, images and many more that the product makers want to publicize and in such a way become a part of mass media. Although there are infinite ways the advertisers would use to make the people be aware of the product but they all follow a single goal and that is to produce an excellent advertisement that will create a deep impression in which the costumers would go back and ask for more. Three effective ways in promoting advertisement are:
Slogans
It is one of the effective ways to make people remember and know which is which. When we say “it’s the real thing”, without even thinking what it is we know instantly that one product pops up in our minds and that is Coca-Cola. Other slogans like “probably the best lager in the world” or “it keeps you going, and going, and going...” for sure even a six year old knows what product that would be. That’s how powerful a slogan is, that even to those who are not loyal consumers know what those items are. That of course depends on how it is advertised and the right words used in a way co-relate with the product. One disadvantage in this kind of advertising is that it takes some time for the product to be known. But once it is known, it will never be erased for quite some time.
Endorsers
We all know who Michael Jordan is. That if we ask anything about basketball to anyone including those who are not even familiar about this ball game, they know only one person and that is Michael Jordan. Winning countless awards and championship rings as a professional basketball player, he is for sure the best model to endorse the Nike basketball shoes. In fact, research were made and concluded that most people around the world see Nike shoes as the appropriate shoes use in playing basketball than any other brand. To use the right model in endorsing the product can most likely win everyone’s trust and especially if that person already has a lot of followers around. One disadvantage for this is that if ever the endorser got involved in a scandal or in any way destroys his or her image, it will likely lose the people’s trust. Resulting also to losing the costumers for the endorser and the product goes hand in hand.
Influence
We know how easily we get influenced in whatever today’s fad brings to us. That whenever we see people wearing those ragged but sexy jeans or those old fashioned but still cool hats, we probably would want to have one of those. For whatever the things we see that looks good on them, we would likely conclude that those things will also look good or better on us. There is also one thing that deeply influence us, and that is the people living under our own roof. Whenever our parents or elders say about what things are better compared to others, most likely we agree to them. For they are the people we already trusted which then influences us easily. To the product makers, to obtain the trust of the people and especially the older ones is also one best strategy in promoting advertisement.
Advertising is in itself a form of information for us consumers. This might provide positive or negative effects in such ways. But still, their sole purpose is to offer us all the things we need to know and it’s up to us to fall for it.
